New Faces at Nexus for 2009
Over the last four months Nexus has recruited a further seven new members of staff to join the team. The recent recruitment drive includes key appointments that support the growing needs of its local, national and international customers and to ensure that the highest levels of customer service are maintained.
Jemma Moores joins Nexus Open Software as a Sales and Marketing Executive, working alongside the Website Development and Software Development Teams. We also welcome Mike Jessop as Technical Operations Manager, a new role designed to deliver high quality project-management for major client installations and also to oversee service management throughout Nexus Technical Services.
At Nexus we recognise the benefit of investing in the future through helping young recruits and graduates to develop their careers and passion for ICT! We would like to extend a warm welcome to all of the following new Nexus Team members!
Jemma Moores - Sales & Marketing Executive
Since graduating from Loughborough University Business School, Jemma has focused her career on the software development and website content management (CMS) sectors. Prior to joining Nexus, Jemma progressed through the ranks of Goss Interactive, a well-known content management software company, to become Head of Sales. Jemma has extensive experience of selling enterprise software solutions into both government and blue chip organisations and Nexus is confident that her skills and expertise will help customers to accelerate their online business strategies.
Mike Jessop - Technical Operations Manager
Mike Jessop is joining the Nexus Technical Support team in a new position of Technical Operations Manager. Mike has 16 years experience in information technology, the last 8 of which were spent in the legal sector managing both ICT Helpdesk and Infrastructure teams. Mike will be responsible for project management of all Nexus customer installations and will also oversee the management of the Nexus Helpdesk. This demanding new role will be well suited to Mike's organisational strengths and his ITIL (IT Service Management) qualification.
Steve Cooper - Systems Engineer
Nexus is very pleased to welcome Steve Cooper to the Technical Support team. Steve has over 10 years ICT experience, including the last six years spent working in the legal sector. Steve is already proving to be an invaluable member of the team, utilising his broad set of technical skills from server hardware and network infrastructure to desktop software support.
Barry Byrne - Systems Engineer
Barry achieved a First Class BSc (Hons) degree in Computer Networks, from the University of Derby in July 2007. After completing his studies Barry worked for 12 months as a Network Engineer at a Secondary School, before recently joining Nexus. During this time Barry self studied and was awarded the MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) certification in October 2008. Barry is particularly interested in network infrastructures, virtualisation technology, security and storage, all of which will stand him in good stead for a career at Nexus.
Stacey White - Customer Services Assistant
Stacey has joined Nexus to fulfil a customer services role and help manage the increasing number of visitors to the Nexus offices and ICT training suites. This is a change of career for Stacey who previously studied at Bicton College, completing a National Diploma in Horse Management and Business Management.
Tina Jeffery - Customer Services Assistant
Tina attended Exeter College where she studied English language, sociology and photography. Tina is now working at Nexus as part of a gap year prior to starting university to study outdoor leisure and event management. Tina is gaining some useful experience supporting the activities of the Nexus marketing team.
Christopher Knab - Website Developer
Chris is currently studying for a BTEC National Diploma in IT software development and web design at Exeter College. He spends one day per week working with the website development team at Nexus to gain valuable work experience. After completion of his college course Chris plans to go to University and further his education in software game development. Chris tells us that his time at Nexus is proving extremely useful as he is now often ahead of his college web development class!
